I hadn't cracked one ...The Frog and Toad books! I hadn't cracked one open for decades until I started reading them to my daughter, and I was happily surprised to see how genuine those two amphibians are as characters. They're a little neurotic, a tad clueless, a smidge cowardly, and a tiny bit mean.
